David's Book

Well, here is Brain's contribution to David's dance book. Brian this is really lovely in person. My family admired your work too saying it was very romantic. Did you use pastel pencils to get all those wonderful details in?

Now I have TWO books to work on and send along. No pressure here!

Just last night my wife and I were dancing round our kitchen trying to work out the steps and timing for an old-time Scottish waltz that we couldn't do very well on Saturday at a ceilidh!
This is so nicely done, Brian - a very romantic mood you've captured. Were you dancing here with Kyoko?

Thanks, Lindsay and David.

Yes, this is a very loose representation of me and Kyoko in our living room.

I started the drawing in charcoal pencil and vine charcoal, Lindsay, and then used soft pastel and pastel pencil.

The detail of the wine on the table adds to the story.

Ask him which glass is his Steph - the big one or the wee one!

My Chardonnay and Kyoko's plum wine - it seems kind of like I'm staring at the drinks here, doesn't it? I wasn't sure whether to add the glasses and candles or not. I was afraid that without them, though, it would look less romantic and more like she was trying to push me out the window.
